Overview
For this project, I developed a UX/UI prototype aimed at enhancing the ALDI Grocery App experience. My main objectives were to design a professional-quality loading screen and to make it easier for customers to find weekly deals. The overall goal was to create a simpler, faster, and more enjoyable digital shopping experience while staying true to ALDI’s brand values of affordability, simplicity, and quality.
The Challenge
The biggest challenge was improving key user interactions—particularly the first impression when the app opens and the ease of finding discounts—without overcomplicating the user experience. I needed to maintain ALDI’s recognizable brand identity while modernizing the app to feel more professional and user-friendly, especially for busy shoppers looking to save time.
My Solution
I focused on building a Figma prototype for the iPhone 16 Pro Max frame (440×956), delivering:
- A Clean Loading Screen – I designed a professional and welcoming opening animation that immediately sets a high-quality tone for the app.
- Simplified Weekly Deals Access – I reorganized the app layout to make weekly specials highly visible and easily navigable, helping customers quickly find the best offers.
- Brand-Consistent Visuals – I incorporated ALDI’s recognizable blue, red, and gold color palette, using bold but approachable design elements to create a familiar, modern experience.
I also developed supporting assets including early sketches, a sitemap, and detailed wireframes, ensuring that every design choice focused on clarity, speed, and user convenience.
The Outcome
This project allowed me to blend UX strategy with brand loyalty. By simplifying key points of interaction and staying true to ALDI’s no-frills shopping experience, I created a prototype that feels professional, approachable, and efficient. The final design provides ALDI shoppers with a smoother, quicker way to find deals and navigate the app—making digital grocery shopping as easy as stepping into an ALDI store.
