Overview
For this project, I focused on promoting sustainable shopping habits to help protect the environment. The campaign aimed to raise awareness around the small actions shoppers can take—like bringing reusable bags or refusing a bag for single items—that collectively reduce plastic waste and prevent environmental harm.
The Challenge
The biggest challenge was to communicate a serious environmental issue in a way that was approachable, clear, and visually engaging. I wanted to motivate everyday behavior change without overwhelming the audience or making the messaging feel preachy. The campaign had to feel positive, accessible, and easy to adopt.
My Solution
I developed a visual campaign centered on clean design and strong, relatable messaging. My design goals were to educate and inspire without guilt-tripping the viewer. I focused on:
- Printed and digital graphics that highlighted quick, actionable tips for reducing plastic bag use.
- Friendly iconography and soft, eco-inspired colors (greens and earth tones) to make the designs feel warm and encouraging.
- Simple, direct slogans that made the message easy to understand and share.
The tone of the campaign was optimistic and solutions-focused. Instead of dwelling on environmental damage, I highlighted how easy and empowering it can be to make sustainable choices.
The Outcome
This project gave me the opportunity to use design for advocacy. By keeping the visuals clean and approachable, I created a campaign to make people stop, think, and—hopefully—change their habits. The final designs serve as a reminder that even small choices, like skipping a plastic bag, can have a big impact.
